That said, there are still a few little issues that make this unit less than perfect. It takes expensive distilled water as a way to avoid expensive filters. More problematic is the seeming lack of humidity control. Although you can set the intended level, it seems to be hit or mis(t) (!) as to how that setting works or what the actual humidity level is, at any given point. However, the price point is great.
Low Noise, High Comfort:
With the stealth of a ninja on a library mission, this humidifier purrs away in the background, delivering moisture to your nose without ever interrupting your peaceful slumber. If silence were a superpower, the LEVOIT Humidifier would be a superhero.
Water Tank for Days:
Remember the last time you woke up in the middle of the night, feeling like a tumbleweed in the desert, rushing to refill your humidifier? Well, that's a problem of the past. This bad boy comes with a water tank that's so large it could quench the thirst of a camel caravan for days. You'll be waking up to a room filled with the finest humidity, and your water bill won't know the difference.
Mist Modes for All Moods:
With multiple mist speed options - low, medium, and high - you can adjust the humidity to fit your current mood. Feeling dramatic? Go high. Feeling chill? Go low. It's like having a personal weather forecaster in your room!
Aroma in the Air:
Not just your ordinary humidifier, this LEVOIT gem doubles as an essential oil diffuser. It's so versatile; it could moonlight as a stand-up comedian if it had the legs for it.
In conclusion, the LEVOIT Humidifier is worth every dollar you spend. Your nose will thank you, your room will be the oasis you never knew you needed, and the sound of your snoring will be the stuff of legend—soft, subtle, and oh-so-hydrated. So, what are you waiting for? Say goodbye to dryness, and let this humidifier add a touch of moisture to your life!
I keep my place at 70-72 degrees, got this humidifier to 'warm it up',
to keep the 'feels like temp' as high as possible.
Having the higher humidity makes a big difference for me.
This device works very well.
I don't run it with the WiFi or the app. I just set it manually. Fewer devices on my WiFi the better.
Great size and easy to fill
Cons
Amount of moisture puts in air as much as smaller humidifiers
Easy to fill, and typically lasts about a day before I need to refill again. I keep mine set to 70-80% humidity, and it does a great job keeping my room within that range.
Plants absolutely love it!
Cleaning isn't terribly difficult, but needs to be done regularly to prevent nasty gunk buildup in the base.
What I absolutely love about this humidifier is its ability to effortlessly maintain the ideal humidity level in my room. Thanks to advanced sensors, it ensures that I wake up without that all-too-familiar dry, scratchy throat. Plus, it operates with a whisper-quiet hum, rated at ≤ 30dB, which is perfect for dorm rooms where peace and quiet are golden. I can run it all night without it disturbing my sleep or study sessions.
One of its standout features is its long-lasting performance. With a runtime of up to 60 hours, I only need to refill it every 3 days or so. This not only saves me time but also ensures that my room remains comfortable without constant monitoring and refilling.
The LEVOIT Humidifier offers a range of smart features that I've come to appreciate. It adapts to my daily routine with different modes: morning aromatherapy, Auto Mode during family time, Plant Mode for my indoor greenery, and Sleep Mode for peaceful nights. And if I'm ever out or busy, I can conveniently control and monitor it from my phone.
Refilling the humidifier is a breeze, thanks to the 1-Step top refill design. It's a thoughtful addition that prevents any mess and eliminates the need to move the humidifier around.
From a health perspective, using distilled or purified water is recommended (however I have been using tap water), and there are replacement filters available to extend the humidifier's life. And for those looking to enhance the atmosphere further, aroma pads are an option.
In conclusion, the LEVOIT Humidifier has transformed my dorm room into a comfortable, healthy oasis. It's efficient, silent, and incredibly easy to use. If you're in a dry environment or simply looking to improve your living space, I wholeheartedly recommend this humidifier. It's been a dorm room essential for me, and I couldn't be happier with its performance!
It is a dream to set up anf link with the cloud (on Android anyway) and use. I use it to replicate a Jungle Enviro for plants- Perfect and affordable. How often does that happen?
That said, this is a good incarnation of one of those. It holds a lot of water, it is quieter than other ones I've used, and as a bonus it's got a (so far) pretty good hygrometer built in that both reports the humidity and lets you set a target. It also looks nice, which doesn't hurt.
It can't keep the humidity to 50% in my office with the door open, but that's Arizona for you. It manages if I have the door closed. And regardless it's adding a lot of moisture to the air and making it more comfortable. It's pretty typical in the rate of moisture it puts out.
I admit I was partly drawn to it because I had Levoit air purifiers, and thought it would be fun to be able to fiddle with it and to see the relative humidity from the same app that controls the purifiers. And it is (for me).
It has the bottom part and the water container fits on top and then it has a lid where the moisture comes out. You can adjust the moisture flow and the moisture place turns so you can move it in different directions. The cord is long but not to long, it is easy to clean, easy to set up and use. Once filled the water lasts all day on the highest setting and if you fill it before you go to bed it last all night.
It comes with easy to understand directions if needed.
I have it set up on Wi-Fi as well as voice controlled through Alexa. I like that I can set a humidity standard and once the room reaches that level the humidifier it turns itself off and when it goes below my set level the humidifier turns itself on.
The water capacity is also great as I fill the humidifier every couple days which is simple enough. I also like that it has a nightlight if you like to sleep with a small light on. That is controllable through the voice with Alexa as well as through the app.
I've had it for almost a year without any issues at all. I clean it once every 6 to 8 weeks and it looks like new every time. I
I change the filter once I see it very yellow and that's also simple to do.
Fantastic humidifier.
This Levoit model has a large capacity reservoir and integrates seamlessly with their native app which allows you to monitor humidity, adjust humidity preferences, turn display and night light on/off as desired, and it also alerts you when the reservoir is empty. We now have 5 of these units at home and it has been VERY convenient to be able to customize humidity per room and be notified when cleaning or refilling is required.
We've had a couple of these units for 6 months now and haven't run into any connectivity or other functional issues (which is why we bought 3 more). I would recommend these for anyone looking for a "smart" humidifier.
Easy to use and setup. The app works good and sends you an alert when the reservoir is empty.
However for those buying the smart(app controlled) humidifier be aware you CANNOT control it from your phone unless you give it access to your contacts.
It is a prerequisite for app working.
I love the night mode that turns off all the lights and displays. My daughter and wife both need an absolutely dark room when they sleep so this was a game changer. Before we'd had to go to great lengths to cover up the light on our old humidifier.
Cleaning and filling are a breeze, and it's super quiet too.
This is one of the best humidifiers you can buy in this price range.
I love my smart gadgets and I really like that every aspect of this humidifier can be controlled remotely AND it can be paired with Alexa to create routines. Generally, we only run this at night while we're sleeping and it's super handy that I can have it automatically turn on in the evening and not have to worry about remembering to do it myself. So many smart products are limited in what you're able to do with them remotely, but you can control everything about this humidifier right from your phone or by simply telling Alexa what to do with it.
The only downside to this humidifier is that it doesn't come with a filter to remove impurities in the water, which means it leaves a layer of white dust on everything. It's easy enough to wipe up, so it's not a big deal for us. Also, just as a note, if you have a stove top with propane burners, the dust will cause the flames to burn bright orange. This isn't dangerous or harmful. Just be aware of it.
As with every other humidifier I've ever owned, the digital hygrometer is never accurate. I have always used several hygrometers in my home to monitor humidity levels and I rely on those instead of the one built into the humidifier. As a matter of fact, with this humidifier, I just turn off the display completely and adjust the output and humidity levels based on my other hygrometers. Again...not a big deal and I've had to do this with every humidifier I've ever owned.
I have always suffered from dry nose, especially in the winter months when the air is cold and dry. I tried many different moisturizers and creams, but nothing seemed to help. I also had trouble sleeping at night, as my throat and nose would get irritated and congested. I was desperate for a solution, until I discovered LEVOIT Humidifiers.
LEVOIT Humidifiers are amazing devices that add moisture to the air in your bedroom, large room, or home. They have a 6-liter water tank that can last up to 36 hours on a low mist setting, and a top fill design that makes it easy to refill without spilling. They also have a smart sensor that automatically adjusts the mist level according to the humidity in the room, and a remote control that lets you change the settings from anywhere in the room.
But what I love most about LEVOIT Humidifiers is how they improved my health and well-being. Since I started using them, I noticed a significant difference in my skin and hair. They are softer, smoother, and more hydrated. I also breathe easier and sleep better at night, as I no longer suffer from dryness and congestion. I feel more refreshed and energized in the morning, and ready to face the day.
LEVOIT Humidifiers are not only good for me, but also for my plants and pets. They help keep them healthy and happy by providing them with the optimal humidity level. They also add a touch of elegance and style to my home, with their sleek and modern design. They are easy to clean and maintain, and come with a 1-year warranty and lifetime customer support.
If you are looking for a way to improve your indoor air quality and comfort, I highly recommend LEVOIT Humidifiers. They are the best humidifiers I have ever used, and they have changed my life for the better. You won't regret buying them!
As for cleaning, initially just emptied in the morning after use and let dry, have not had issues. I did get lazy and let it run for a month without emptying but using RO only water, it still looks clean and did not have yellowing or build up, just used vinegar and water to clean just to be safe. After rinsing and drying, I would let it run for awhile since it still had some vinegar smell that eventually went away.
Only use Distilled Water.
Tap Water will create White Dust / a Faint Fog in the room due to the minerals in tap water that will literally soak the the entire room in a white chalky powder that will need to be wiped down constantly.
I'll probably at some point need to buy a Distilled Water Generator to save money on Store Bought Distilled Water.
App is easy to use. And highly reccomend just using Auto Mode. Sensor can be sensitive so find thresholds that work for your room. If Target Humidity can never be met, Humidifer will never turn off during Auto Mode to save water. Try lowering Humidity Levels. Fans and Open Windows greatly affect humidity levels so find thresholds that work in tandem with those variables if you have any.
Humidifer is very quiet and you can barely hear it. I have it on my nightstand next to my bed and is not an issue.
Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, we suddenly discovered that the on/off switch no longer operated the unit. I emailed Levoit's customer service and they promptly put me in contact with a service representative. After asking me a few questions, he sent me instructions to try to start the unit, but the efforts were unsuccessful. He requested some information about the purchase and the unit, including my shipping address, and responded that they would be sending a new replacement unit. It arrived today and works fine.
I am totally satisfied with the product and the follow up service. I recommend Levoit and this humidifier for anyone in need of an excellent product.
First off, let's talk about the size. This thing is perfect for large rooms, so if you're trying to humidify a small closet, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you're like me and you need something to cover a lot of square footage, this is the humidifier for you.
One thing I absolutely love about this humidifier is the top-fill feature. It's so much easier than having to unscrew the bottom and fill it up from there. With the LEVOIT, you simply remove the lid and pour in your water. It's that simple.
But wait, there's more! This humidifier also doubles as an essential oil diffuser. I love adding a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus to the water and letting it fill my bedroom with a delightful scent. It's like having a spa in my own home!
Now let's talk about the smart app and voice control. Yes, you read that right. You can control this humidifier with your voice! I feel like I'm living in the future every time I tell Alexa to turn on my humidifier. Plus, the app allows you to set your desired humidity level and even track the humidity levels in your room over time. Talk about high-tech!
And if you're worried about noise, fear not. This humidifier has a quiet sleep mode, so you can leave it running all night without it disturbing your slumber. In fact, I find the white noise it produces to be quite soothing.
Overall, I highly recommend the LEVOIT Humidifier. It's powerful, convenient, and even a little bit fancy with all its high-tech features. So go ahead and treat yourself (and your plants and baby) to a little extra moisture in the air. You won't regret it!
1. Choose the right size: Make sure to choose a humidifier that is the right size for the room. A unit that is too small will not be effective, while one that is too large can lead to excess moisture and mold growth.
2. Use distilled water: Using distilled water in your humidifier can help prevent mineral buildup and bacteria growth.
3. Clean regularly: Regular cleaning is important to prevent bacteria and mold growth. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and disinfecting your humidifier.
4. Change filters: If your humidifier has a filter, make sure to change it regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Control humidity levels: Use a hygrometer to measure the humidity levels in the room and adjust the humidifier accordingly. A humidity level of 30-50% is generally recommended.
6. Use the right type of water: Depending on the type of humidifier you have, you may need to use a specific type of water. For example, ultrasonic humidifiers may require demineralized water.
7. Place in a safe location: Make sure to place your humidifier in a safe location, away from electrical outlets and other hazards. Also, keep it out of reach of children and pets.
8. Use essential oils safely: If you want to add essential oils to your humidifier, make sure to use ones that are safe for use with humidifiers and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
9. Empty the tank when not in use: If you are not using your humidifier for an extended period of time, make sure to empty the tank and clean it thoroughly before storing.
10. Use as directed: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and maintenance of your humidifier to ensure safe and effective operation.
One issue I had was that I lowered the desired humidity level (on Auto), and it didn't seem to lower the output, so the humidity was higher than I wanted it to be. I had to switch to manual, adjust the output there, wait for the humidity to drop, then go back to Auto. Not sure if this was a one time glitch, or a problem with Auto mode. It only happened the one time, haven't really changed the humidity level since then.
I use distilled water, but still need to clean the unit monthly. Go ahead and order some assorted small, soft brushes when you order the unit: turns a minor chore into a quick routine.
I like the results so well I that bought one for a buddy with other health problems. So far this season, he hasn’t had any major respiratory problems-a big change from before he started using the Levoit!
Heartily recommend using a humidifier, and the Levoit has served me & my buddy well.
It's a no-noise effortless product. I love the app that allows you to schedule on/off times. We have it in our daughter's room and it is scheduled to go on ten minutes before coming home from school and go off ten minutes after she leaves for school. It has an optional night light that you can schedule to go on and off and even the display can be scheduled to go on/off without the unit shutting off. My daughter said the display was too bright for her room so we have the unit scheduled to go on showing the display and at 10:15pm, the display goes off but the unit continues to run. Everything can be controlled by the app.
The bonus feature is that it allows for essential oil to be added to a filter. Considering it runs for 14 hours straight, I only have to refill it every other day with a humidity setting at 55%. Not bad.
There is a small water filter on the 300s in the top tank as well.
The 300S lacks a few features such as a storage clip on the unit for the included cleaning brush. I find that annoying on a high price unit. The humidifier also lacks a dedicated area for mineral absorption pad. I use the pads for the 600S since I buy them anyway. I've see no issue with performance. I've used the mineral pad tucked under the float (works best) and placed in the back of the unit (see pictures) you might be able cut them to fit where ever you want as well I've never tried it. The mineral absorption pads are worth the money. I have hard water so descaling the unit can be a chore, the mineral absorption pad helps with that as well as the annoying white dust. I normally use water from the fridge filter however I find my ZeroWater filter works best. Only need to do a minimal descaling job every 6 weeks now, with a quick weekly vinegar bath and brush.
The Max water line is at the upper handles I didn't see it on the clear plastic tank had to check the ownes manual. The app is just okay, it has adds that make it less than user friendly sometimes. The offending add sometimes blocks the main screen to access your device and controls, Forcing you to click the small X in the top corner of the add and then choose why you don't want to see this add. I'm sure They will most likely fix this in a future update. Typically I use the widget for quick on off and run schudules. I have other Levoit products so I am familiar with the app an use it daily.
The air purifier doesn't like the humidifier. When running side by side they purifier would detect the mist and run constantly. I now run them on opposite sides of 5ft dresser top and they do fine together. Overall it is a great unit and works well to humidifi my bedroom.
Cons
- Medium cleaning difficulty
- No clip for cleaning brush
- No designated location for mineral absorption pad.
- Adds in the app are sometimes intrusive.
Pros
- Large top fill water tank
- Water filter
- Full front button controls
- Front screen can be turned off for sleep (with the night light on or off)
- Cleaning reminders and tank empty notifications from the app.
- Ability to use both timers and scheduled on/off times.
- Night light with high low and off settings
My review is unpaid and I purchased the 300s at full price.
You can also get an additional year of warranty coverage by registering your product using the app you can use to control it. Don’t forget to do that because you only have 16 days from purchase date.
Overall so far I like the product and the company gives plenty of info. Both in the box or on the internet. Make sure you purchase a hydrometer to keep in the room to measure your true humidity level in the room. I bought an Acurite for $16. Tells room temo and humidity level. So far everything is testing within 2% of the reading. I would buy this product again. But there are other good choices too. The app is what makes this device worth the price.
Overall I am very happy with this unit and hope it continues to live up to the current standards.
I don't use the internet app--the manual functions are fine for my needs (turn/on and off and leave on at a set humidity level). One caveat: If you want to use the "night mode" function to dim the display (which is bright), it requires you to use "auto mode" rather than selecting a humidity level (you have to use the app to do that in night mode). I solve this by putting a picture frame an inch in front of the display at night--not ideal, but fine solution to eliminate the brightness to avoid using an unnecessary app.
Overall, i'm pleased with the product. It does the important things well: Good humidity, good water capacity, not annoyingly noisy and reasonable to clean if using tap water.
Levoit style 'app smart control' top fill
.and.
Levoit LV600HH 6L bottom fill w/remote control
Both work very quietly and efficiently each putting out ~3 gallons into the air in 24 hours with ~3-4 fillings.
They sit side-by-side with a fan blowing the cool mist around our main living room/kitchen and have been running continuously for 3 weeks. This resulted in the humidity increasing from ~29% to the current ~38% not just in this area but upstairs too in our 4200 sq' house as measured on 2 Honeywell stats.
I highly prefer this top fill Levoit over the bottom fill LV600HH. I'm a 6'4" 230# guy but find it awkward removing the tank to fill it and inconveniently heavy to put back onto the base. The top fill is easier to quickly pour a gallon of Reverse Osmosis water into using a gallon container. All in all, I'm pleased with the Levoit humidifier performance and would recommend (this top fill one).
First the Pro's:
(1) It is almost silent, even at the highest output level. I have never owned a more silent ultrasonic humidifier, so this is a treat!
(2) It is easy enough to clean, with few "impossible" nooks and crannies.
(3) sleep mode (which turns the output on auto up to 50% humidity) works as expected at night.
(4) it is easy to operate with just the buttons - no need to use the app.
I don't use the app, aroma diffuser, or night light, so I can't comment on those features.
Now Cons:
(1) I had a powerhouse of a humidifier prior to this one - an Air O Swiss before the company was bought out by Boneco. I still miss that one greatly. It output mist like an illegally-opened fire hydrant in the summertime. Before buying this humidifier, I didn't do my research and mistakenly relied on the size of the tank to indicate whether I thought it would humidify my living room adequately. Both this one and my Air O Swiss are a similar capacity in the water tanks. However, the Levoit struggles in my livingroom to get the humidity past 40% when the radiator is blasting on a cold day (no ability to control the heat output where I live). My living room area is about 400 sqft. The description for this humidifier makes it seem like it should be able to handle a room this size. They clearly did not count on NYC apartment heating. If you are in the same situation as me where you can't control the heat output and they are blasting it, this humidifier is only good for the bedroom. For the living room, you really want something with a mist output that is double or triple the output of this one. I am considering the Levoit LV600S for this reason - mist output is 300ml/h for cold mist and 550ml/h for warm mist. For comparison, my current Levoit humidifier outputs mist at 135mL/hr. I should have paid attention to these numbers from the start. Learn from my mistake!
(2) Although this humidifier is much easier to clean than my old humidifier, it still does have a few "impossible" nooks and crannies that a small bottle brush and the tiny (included) brush can't reach. Those areas are permanently discolored with use. This is minor and something I am willing to live with.
(3) The hygrometer on the humidifier is often 7 to 10 degrees more generous than reality. I have found hygrometers on humidifiers to be inaccurate across all the different brands I've owned, so I just ignore the humidity number altogether. I have independent hygrometers in every room of my apartment. However, if you are relying ONLY on the hygrometer on this device to assure yourself that you are at the healthy 40% to 60% humidity range, do yourself a favor and get some independent hygrometers. Your nose will thank you.
We buy a new humidifier almost every winter. The region we live has a very hard water.
We bough two units from Levoit for our house and with couple hours the environment was completely different (for good).
We live in a desert area, 7200 ft altitude.
Dryness of skin, specially during the winter is huge.
Not only that, but because of the cold and so much usage of heater everywhere (home, office, stores, friends home, etc), breathing well is hard.
This humidifier delivers everything that promises. The humidity of my daughter’s room went from 27% to 45% fast and easily. I love the scheduling function to turn it off and turn it back on.
So helpful! You can set up for turn it off at the regular time you live home (M-F) and set up to turn it on within 40 mins before you get back!
This save water and also exhaustive tank refills.
BTW … refil the tank is a piece of cake, adding water to the top of the tank.
I love the light off function and as well the app that controls the unit. One more information: you can have multiple units associate to your account, you can name the rooms as you wish, and share the device with someone’s app (in this case, my husband and I have acess to both devices in our phones). Cleaning is a dream and you can literally stick you hand inside with a sponge or brush for cleaning the unit.
The essential oil pad is also a winner!
So far, I am in love with this product.
So I went to NYT Wirecutter and looked at their recommendations, settling for this Levoit. Night and day difference! Here is how it is better than the Vornado:
* in automatic sleep mode, it's so close to silent that it doesn't matter. It delivers humidity easily well enough to be on the other side of the room and I can just barely hear when it is operating, really just the sound of steam escaping. No whirring, clunking or gurgling whatsoever.
* thank heavens! a sleep mode where all the lights and displays are 100% turned off. I don't need a light display in my room at night, thanks
* top-filling reservoir. The Vornado needed you to remove the reservoir and fill it upside down. This leads to the worrying situation where if you knock the device or mishandle it at all, it might dump the entire contents of the reservoir instantly onto the floor. This is dumb. It's also the reason that the Levoit doesn't glug-glug-glug.
* the app is pretty good. Some have complained that it spams you with emails and stuff - it does by default, but you can switch all that off. The app itself makes it easy to set up a schedule where it automatically comes on at - say - 7pm, and switches itself off at 6am, constantly monitoring the humidity and keeping it at 55%, with all the lights stay off all the time. The Vornado could not do this (or I couldn't figure out how to)
My only complaint is that although it keeps bugging me to clean it (probably a good idea) it's not really clear what an acceptable amount of 'cleaning' is, it just tells you to disassemble it. Otherwise, it's an impressively designed and functional piece of equipment.
(full disclosure, I used to be a product designer, so I respect the thought and care that went into this device - the team should feel proud or themselves!)
I hope I used that semicolon correctly.
Anyway, this humidifier is top rated for a reason. It’s quiet, easy to maintain, and the built in hygrometer monitors your home environment so you don’t have to. The design is unobtrusive to any decor. It kind of looks like a medical gumball machine, and I’m okay with that!
Keeping your home humidity is great for house plants. Also like many of you I happen to own a solid mango wood concert sized ukulele (handmade in Hawaii). Obviously this beautiful instrument is sensitive to dry air and wide swings in humidity. I posted a photograph. I normally don’t keep my ukulele so close to the Levoit humidifier. I don’t want it to be directly sprayed.
I read the manual cover to cover. There are detailed instructions on where to (and where not to) add essential oils if that’s your jam. I thought a tropical beta fish would look nice in the clear tank. Nowhere in the manual does it say not to keep fish in the humidifier, but I would recommend against it.
Note: if you also have a levoit air purifier these clever appliances will fight each other. If my humidifier is humidifying then the air purifier detects the mist and goes full speed trying to clean the air. So I can only use one machine at a time depending on what issue I more urgently need to address.
My only issue with it is keeping it clean. I change the water and rinse it out every night, and I admit that I don't only put the recommended distilled water in it, only tap water. That is admittedly probably where my problem stems from, but I run this thing so much while it's dry as hell in Kentucky this time of year (winter) that I just don't want to have to stock gallons and gallons of distilled water, since it'll go through 2/3 of a tank in one night. I keep it set to auto shut off at 50% humidity, well within the recommended range and it still runs pretty much nonstop. That's not the fault of the app or software, it really is that dry in the winter here.
I keep to the app's suggestion of cleaning it once a week, and have even found myself having to do it more than that with the gross buildup of yellow slime all over the intake and all over the bottom section/reservoir and it's whole assembly. Maybe our water here is gross. Totally plausible, but man, the water in the bottom of this thing gets gross looking after a day of working. Bunch of mung floating in it that I have to rinse out daily.
I admit that this is probably user error, since I'm not running the recommended distilled water in it but it's just not economically feasible, since it'd take a gallon every other day. I know it's not expensive, but damn...I don't have space for 15 gallons of distilled water.
Point is, this thing works great, the app is great and works fine, love that it can be programmed to run at certain times of day and only under certain humidity levels and it absolutely pumps out the steam, much better than my last evaporative fan-based humidifier that was loud as hell. I guess I just want to say that if you want to run tap water in it, prepare to have to clean it ever other day, because the mung builds up quick and you don't want to be breathing that stuff.
The app connected quickly and very easily and connected to my WiFi network with no trouble at all. I wish all internet-of-things devices I owned connected this easily.
Only two negatives I can think of:
* You can’t really adjust the humidity level without using the app. All other functions work from the buttons, but I don’t think there’s a way to make any adjustments without having a smartphone to connect to.
* On iOS, the app’s Schedule function doesn’t work AT ALL. If you set it to start or stop at just about any time, it just defaults to 5:20 pm for some reason. Can’t be used at all. This isn’t a function I have any need for, but I thought I should mention it here. I suspect that this is just a generic app to use with lots of various devices, so I think this is much more of an app developer issue than something from Lêvoit.
Do you NEED the app to work it - NO!
-control mist levels, nightlight & display on/off via touch buttons
Do you WANT to have the app - ABSOLUTELY YES!!!
- You can completely customize it to target the humidity your wants/needs with auto on/off +/- 5% of your customized set target. E.I. set humidity level for 60% it turns on when it drops to 55% & off when it hit 65%
- This will save motor/functioning lasting longer
- If you can't get outta bed or don't want to disturb a fussy baby you finally rocked asleep (or just lazy & don't want to get outta bed) you can turn on or up the humidity not only through your phone but any smart home setup you have (Alexa or Google)
- It will notify you when it's time to clean it (for those who are forgetful and/or chaotic household)
Otherwise UBER easy to clean & fill. A tank can easily last you more than 24hrs. No special filters required. NO small parts and/or nooks & crannies you can't get to to clean properly. Very quiet. Nightlight & display on/off optional - so pitch black in the room if you want it! I will NEVER go to any old regular humidifier EVER AGAIN!!! Sending 1 out to my niece & nephew each for this winter coming up now it's been thoroughly tested for over a year by Auntie Ash 💜
These are MY OWN words, I received nothing from leaving this review - nor to I have anything to gain from leaving it! Just do yourself the favor - if you suffer from allergies or breathing issues or have kids (or new baby) and look no further this is your solution for winter time (dry climate) suffering!
Still in my never ending search (over a decade quest) to find a EO Diffuser to meet my needs..........
The unit is easy to set up and pair with Bluetooth. The warranty registration is straightforward.
It’s super quiet and easy to fill. The display is bright and easy to see, even from across the room. The app is user friendly and intuitive, and I was able to easily set to my target humidity level. I like that I can rotate the nozzle to direct the mist in the direction of my choosing. I like that night mode turns off the bright display. I like that it doesn’t beep at all.
It seems like it will be easy to clean, though not as easy as some round units I’ve tried. Those got sent back for beeping while sleeping, and not having effective enough output to raise humidity levels, respectively. I wish this one had a round tank like those did, but oh well.
I don’t think the humidistat is super accurate, according to my hygrometer, but that’s also somewhat to be expected. It’s a matter then of how far apart the readings are and how consistent they are.
The unit so far says it’s 5-10% more humid than what my hygrometer reads in the same room. Right now for example the base says 40% and the hygrometer about 6 feet away says 33%. This could cause issues because the instructions say that auto mode shuts off when the base reaches 50%. So that could be a problem if there’s a disparity of 10% or more with the base shutting off before the space actually reaches the 40% minimum that I’m aiming for.
That said, I’ll need to give it a few days of use before I can form a solid opinion. I also am in my living room right now, which I expect to have a different performance than my bedroom which is much smaller and closed off from the rest of the house. I expect humidity to collect more efficiently in the bedroom.
If I have to run the unit on manual during the day in the living room to get it in the 40s, that’s fine, as long as I can count on auto in my bedroom while I’m sleeping and maintain humidity in the 40s. I’ll update this review as I observe the unit’s performance in various circumstances.
--------
Been running this at night for several nights now, and overall am pleased. It's not consistent with my hygrometer, but it's consistent with itself. Meaning if I want it to go up to 45% in the room, I have to set the unit to 55%. It works well in nighttime mode and is quiet.
Noise: It is very quiet. I can barely hear anything unless I put my ear next to it.
Nozzle: The nozzle for the humidifier is adjustable. You can point it in any direction that you want. This is great if you want it to point in a specific direction.
Controls: This is my favorite part of this humidifier. The buttons on the humidifier are very easy to use. I prefer the app. I downloaded the app, pressed the power button for 5 seconds and then I paired the humidifier to my app. It was quick and easy. Once paired I was able to control my humidifier using my app.
I can set a timer so the humidifier can turn off in 1 or any specific duration i want.
I also set a schedule so the humidifier will turn on every day at a specific time and turn off in the morning at a specific time. This is great if you want it only when you sleep. You set it once and you are done.
The other good setting is the Auto setting. You set a specific humidity and that's it. It will humidify 5 above your setting and then wait until it drops below to turn on again. This way you will never over humidify. You can use auto mode when you set your schedule a well.
You also can turn on a night light of needed.
You can also turn off the control light on the humidifier so that you can have prefect darkness if light is of concern.
Tank size: Tank size is huge but still easy to fill and carry. Handles on both side to help carry. Wide openings to clean the Tank and fill. I am hoping with schedule and auto mode this humidifier will last a week on full Tank.
If you are looking for a smart humidifier for a great price this is it. The App is one of the easiest to use and has all the features you need. You will definitely love this.
The good:
- IT’S TOP FILL!!! I can’t begin to express how much this matters. With this design there’s no more removing the tank, flipping it over, filling it, flipping it over again and reinserting.
- The mist flow is great
- The app integration is easy to set up
- The app allows you to turn off the display. This is great for those who have light sensitivity issues to sleep at night.
- Noise level is very quiet, nothing noticeable and should not keep anyone awake at night.
- The nightlight has a low/high/off option
The bad:
- So far there are no obvious issues.
Potential Future Enhancements:
- Nightlight: It’s currently a 3000k (meaning it’s yellowish in color) light. It would of been better to have a 5000k (daylight white) light, or even the ability to change the nightlight’s color to the user’s preference via the app.
- Water Level Meter: It would be great to see the current water level via the app with a option to have a notification sent when water is low. Today, you can’t see the water level via the app, the user needs to physically look at the tank.
