What impresses me the most is the seamless integration with her Apple devices. The earbuds connect effortlessly to her iPhone and iPad, allowing her to enjoy her favorite content without any hassle. Plus, the convenient charging case ensures that she always has enough battery life to get through the day.
As a parent, it's important to me that my daughter has access to high-quality products that enhance her everyday experiences, and these Apple earbuds certainly deliver. They make the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates superior sound quality, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend them to anyone in search of top-notch wireless earbuds!"
Love that they transfer seamlessly from iPhone to iPad to Mac computer. No more “turn it down, honey!”
Ordering another set today to replace these and will be happy with another couple years use. They work every time, sound good, have no connection issues.
Recently thought I’d branch out and try the lower price point Anker p40 and the a40. Both sets had issues, failed connections, poor sound quality variably and the one set eventually stayed phone connected even when in the case and out of range. Just didn’t work reliably for day to day work uses.
Really wanted to like the ankers, but so far nothing works as well as the Apple air pods. Also have had some Apple gen3s which were great, but since I can’t tell a difference, will stick with the cheaper gen2 sets.
The other is these are the second pair i ordered the first never arrived but i contacted Amazon customer service and they sent out another pair right away i couldn't be more happier with them
She is an Apple girl to the core, so these work great with her iPhone and iPad.
They fit nicely into her ears and she really likes the sound they prodeuce.
A great buy
These earbuds have so-so sound quality, and I never use them for phone calls. So I can’t speak about that aspect. The choices of what you can tap on either the left or right side for are limited. Other ear phones or buds have multiple ways you can touch your right and left sides, to get sound levels, on/off, next track, answering phone, etc. The main thing these do is allow you to use Siri, as they are an Apple product, albeit several models “old.” The main drawback to these is that you cannot look at the case to see how much battery charge is left. You must open the case up when your Bluetooth area is open within your phone’s or iPads’ setting, in order for that to tell you the battery percentage for both the ear buds and the case which can charge them. That is kind of a pain. They do hold battery percentage fairly well, I can say.
I will be repurchasing them. The tech at the repair store said an 18-24 month lifecycle is typically the max he sees for this product. I was considering applecare+ which is $30 for 2 years... however, the cost to replace a lost AirPod or the Charging Case is typically around $89 each without AppleCare+. With AppleCare+, accidental damage repairs, including replacements, are priced at $29 per incident. This fee applies to either the AirPods or the case. so 30+29=$59 and that's only if one piece is broken... not both or all three. i will not be purchasing Applecare for these airpods. I will keep the broken ones however, since the case charges fine, it will be nice to have that extra one just in case.
The best thing about them is the battery life, as they can last ~3 hours to this day when taken out of the case. I also only need to charge the case about once per week when regularly using them.
The stability of these head phones is exceptional they are pretty durable I would not run over them (Like I did my last pair) but I dropped my old pair a lot and they lasted quite a while.
5/5
Sound quality
4/5
These are loud headphones but there is no noise canceling but the loud ness makes up for it
Bad part is they don’t have ambient sound technology
4/5 comfort
They don’t hurt like other headphones do but they do slip out sometimes
4/5 volune control
Only because they only have the double touch feature if they had a single tap feature they would be better
2/5 color
Because I wish apple would come out with more colors to match the iPhones.
This being said these headphone are a good buy not the greatest but highly recommend for the price
If I need to buy another, I would be willing to get one from the same shop lol
I received them promptly and they worked perfectly!
I think this should be the price for current-generation ones though, they are way way overpriced considering how long they don't last. They are a real cash cow for Apple that's for sure.
In any case I'm happy with them and can now rock to Joe Bonamassa and Larkin Poe, among other great blues rockers, while I'm on the roof or working outside or whatever.
I have a 15 for a phone, so the battery life is incredible compared to these AirPods. It's to be expected as technology gets better, but I was hopeful the battery life would be better with the 2nd gen airpods.
I love how small the AirPod case is and how they fit in my ears. They are the exact same fit as the original headphones you used to get when you would buy a phone.
I also love that the price is significantly less than the newer AirPods, so that's a plus.
The Bluetooth functionalities are a bit tricky to me especially since if you are connected to your phone, connecting to another device such as your laptop, is time consuming and complex. Some cool features of these Apple Airpods are it's voice controlling functionality, can use through phone calls, double tap to skip, and if you have an Apple Watch, it works as a tiny remote for the volume. You also do not have much of a say when they come with a lightning speed charger. It's a double win if the device charges quickly and the device has a life of 5 hours without the need of a charger. For the value of this product, the effectiveness is fair.
however for better or worse they block no outside noise since there's no ear tips
also they do not last up to 5 hours like advertised, I can only get 3.5-4 hours on a charge.
i definitely recommend Air Pods, my whole family uses them. after a while you will need to replace them, but they are worth it. they also get pretty dirty pretty fast. you can clean them; you just have to be careful.
First pair went through the wash and were run over (my bad).
Second pair my son threw away but we didn't notice before trash day....
and then this pair.
I tell you this because I keep coming back to these headphones. I love how well they work with the iPhone, that I can use Siri, have it read texts, etc.
The battery is fantastic. I can listen to books for hours. I do one airpod in at a time (unless I really want to listen to the music, movie, etc). I can do voice calls, etc. and listen to podcasts, books, and charge it at night. Usually I listen for 7 hours a day while I'm working, cleaning, etc. and I charge the base at night (it's rarely below 50%). They charge quickly when in the base.
but I'm pleased. Read all reviews before purchasing a lot of things, so far so good.
Because of the cost I was able to gift these to my girlfriend who never had AirPods at absolutely loves these.
There are plenty of things that you can do while wearing the AirPods including answer the call, hang up and even mute, so it’s great that these have a lot of different features. Other simply don’t
I do like how they fit in your ear and personally I’ve had these before as well and they do stay put pretty well
I will say that when my girlfriend is wearing the AirPods and we’re speaking on the phone that her voice and the sound is lower than if she was on speaker even though my volume is up all the way she sometimes still comes in at a lower volume.
I will say that it’s super convenient to have a chargeable case where you can charge the AirPods without having to plug anything in and then charge the case either with or without the AirPods as needed.
These are good quality and I know because I’ve owned them and use them that they lasted for me at least Few years
The only tap controls are start/stop though, wish I could control the volume too
This is the sixth pair purchased by my family over a long period of time. One pair was lost; one of them had a sound failure of the left ear after about a year of constant daily use (my son listens to music while he’s working or is chatting with friends, and I don’t know how well he treated them) his second set has lasted him about 2 years so far. We are all very happy with the sound quality and they’re easy to use and pair to a cell phone. I did look up a quick YouTube how-to but it was painless and simple. So far so good and I honestly wish now I hadn’t waited so long!
Sound quality: Straight out of the box, sound is pretty solid. No crackles, static, pops, or any abnormal noises created by the more economic-friendly headsets. You have a lot more adjustability & tuning capabilities if paired on an iOS/Apple device vs using for example paired with an Android OS device. So, ultimately Apple users may or may not get a better sound quality experience.
Noise cancellation: AirPods do fit fairly well in the ear without having to be jammed inside your ear canal. Generally they create a snug fit using Apple's "universal" earphone design, it is one size fits most not one size fits all. Some users have upgraded or opted to spend the additional funds on a set of AirPods Pro due to the rubber tips for a better/snug fit. I believe only the AirPods Pro currently has an active noise cancellation utilizing two microphones but I would double-check Apple for accurate information. Also, for Android users. The Galaxy buds by Samsung feature active noise cancellation & wireless charging case on every model so you might want to look into that product before making a final purchase.
Battery life: For optimal battery life, I highly recommend charging both AirPods inside the case. The case itself is a battery pack with a life. So if one or both AirPods are low on battery, you can toss them in the case and charge them up. Apple I believe rates 5 minutes of charging time is equivalent to 1 hour of talk/listening time and 15 minutes of charging time is equivalent to 2 hours of talk/listening. I'm sure this is accurate when they're brand new but I'm sure like anything, normal ware & tare might diminish that over time.
Warranty: Apple provides a 1-year standard manufacturer's warranty on this product. This ONLY covers defects/defaults from the manufacturer. This will NOT cover physical and/or liquid damages to AirPods, case, or charging cable included.
AppleCare: It's $29.00 and 2 years and well worth the extra money. You're already spending this kind of money on a headset, may as well have protection. We get it, accidents happen! But protect yourself and get your AirPods repaired/replaced at no additional cost to YOU! There is no additional fees or deductibles involved.
AppleCare tips:
You don't have to install AppleCare right away. You have 60 days from the original purchase date to contact Apple by providing your AirPods serial number (on outside of the box) and Apple will tell you if you're still eligible.
You can renew AppleCare for another 2 years for the same fee of $29.00 provided you want to keep the same product. If you decide to upgrade to the AirPods Pro or whatever the latest model is, you would have to purchase AppleCare for that specific product.
You can go into an Apple store location and get live repair/replacement on your AirPods.
Using AirPods with Android:
Apple has allowed Android and other non-iOS devices to use AirPods since the AirPods pair/connect via BlueTooth.
If you're using AirPods on an Android platform such as Samsung or LG for example there's 2 ways to pair the headset to your device. You either turn on BlueTooth on your device, pop both AirPods inside your ear, find "AirPods" under available connections, and connect. Or you might have to pair manually using the button on the AirPods case to make available, pair, and connect.
FAIR WARNING:
You will NOT have access to all features that the AirPods have to offer on an Apple/iOS device. You will be limited on functions you can perform.
I was able to find an app on Google play store for $1.99 called "AirPopUp". It is a paid application that unlock access to certain/more features of the AirPods similar to what an Apple/iOS device would be granted. Be aware that you will NOT have access nor the ability to have every single feature since you're not on Apple's network. There may be other apps (most likely paid applications) you'd have to find that may unlock more features such as: AirPods battery life percentage, case battery life percentage, programming LEFT & RIGHT AirPods for certain function(s), skipping/pausing/resetting songs, answer/decline/hang up phone calls, find my AirPods, and more.
For Samsung users specifically, you might want to look into the Galaxy Buds. They're a little cheaper than AirPods, I believe Amazon has them for $109.99 + $22 3-Year insurance through Assurion that does cover physical/liquid/accidental damage just like AirPods.

Active noise cancellation
Comes in multiple colors (black/white/silver/yellow/red & black combo with Star Wars edition Galaxy Note 10+)
Includes changing cord and replacement rubber earbud tips.
I know if you pair the Galaxy Buds with a Samsung device it will automatically download an application titled "Galaxy Wearable". This allows users to check battery life status of the case and each bud, prompts you for software updates, ability to program LEFT & RIGHT earbuds to do certain function(s), answer/decline/hang up phone calls, pause/skip/reset songs.
Apple may charge a lot of money for their products on accessories but they never fall short of being a revolutionary, well-designed, reliable product that works as advertised.
Sound Quality (4/5):
The sound quality of these earbuds is generally good. They deliver clear and well-balanced audio, making them suitable for a wide range of music genres and audio content. However, some audiophiles may find that they lack the depth and richness found in higher-end headphones.
Wireless Connectivity (5/5):
Apple has always excelled in creating seamless wireless connections, and the AirPods are no exception. The pairing process is incredibly easy, and they seamlessly connect to your Apple devices via Bluetooth. The connection remains stable, and you can switch between devices effortlessly.
Comfort and Fit (4/5):
The AirPods are designed to be comfortable for extended use. They're lightweight and fit snugly in most ears. However, some users might find them a bit loose during intense physical activities or while running.
Battery Life (4/5):
The included Lightning charging case offers an additional 24 hours of battery life, making it easy to keep the earbuds powered up throughout the day. While this is a decent battery life, there are other models on the market that offer even longer playtime.
Charging (4/5):
The Lightning connector is both a pro and a con. It's convenient if you already own Apple devices, but it's limiting if you use other devices with different charging ports. It would be great to have USB-C compatibility for broader appeal.
Voice Assistant Integration (5/5):
The AirPods have excellent voice assistant integration with Siri, making it effortless to control your music, check the weather, or send messages with just your voice.
Price (3/5):
The AirPods are on the higher end of the price range for wireless earbuds. While they offer a great experience, some users might find more affordable options with similar features from other brands.
Overall (4/5):
The Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) are a solid choice for those in the Apple ecosystem who want reliable wireless earbuds with seamless connectivity and good sound quality. They are comfortable for daily use and come with a convenient charging case. However, the price may deter budget-conscious shoppers, and the Lightning connector might be inconvenient for non-Apple users. If you're willing to invest in quality wireless earbuds and enjoy the Apple ecosystem, these are a great pick.
The standout feature of the Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) is their effortless wireless connectivity. With the proprietary Apple H1 chip, pairing the AirPods with your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch is a breeze. The moment you open the case, the AirPods automatically connect to your device, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music, podcasts, and calls instantly. The seamless transition between devices ensures a hassle-free and uninterrupted listening experience.
The AirPods deliver crystal-clear sound quality that elevates your music and audio content. With custom-designed drivers and enhanced bass response, the earbuds produce rich, full-bodied sound that captivates your senses. Whether you're listening to your favorite tunes, watching movies, or making phone calls, the AirPods deliver impeccable sound that immerses you in the moment.
The AirPods are designed to adapt to your needs. Thanks to built-in optical sensors and motion accelerometers, the earbuds know when they are in your ears and automatically pause playback when you remove them. This smart feature not only saves battery life but also ensures that you never miss a beat when you need to take a break from listening.
Apple's signature Siri voice assistant is seamlessly integrated into the AirPods. With just a double-tap, you can activate Siri to control your music, make calls, check the weather, and more, all without needing to take out your iPhone. The hands-free operation adds convenience to your daily routine and allows you to stay connected and informed while on the go.
The AirPods' charging case provides extended battery life, ensuring that your earbuds are always ready to use. With up to 5 hours of listening time and more than 24 hours of total battery life when using the charging case, you can enjoy your favorite audio content throughout the day without worrying about running out of power.
The sleek and minimalistic design of the AirPods complements any style. The earbuds fit comfortably in your ears and stay securely in place, making them suitable for all-day wear. Additionally, the AirPods are sweat and water-resistant, making them ideal for workouts and outdoor activities.
In conclusion, the Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) redefine the earbud experience, offering a perfect blend of convenience, sound quality, and intelligent features. With effortless wireless connectivity, crystal-clear sound, and seamless integration with Siri, these earbuds provide a truly immersive and enjoyable audio experience. Whether you're a music lover, podcast enthusiast, or simply seeking a reliable hands-free accessory, the AirPods are the epitome of wireless earbuds done right. Experience the freedom of wireless audio with the Apple AirPods and elevate your listening experience to new heights.
If you are in the Apple universe, get these.
Don't bother wasting your time and money getting non-Apple pods. I already did that for you.
THE LONGER REVIEW -
I've had three other brands - two of them, very reputable ones - and had issues with all of them, ranging from connectivity to sound quality. The biggest issue was with phone calls which sounded fine to me, but, judging from the complaints, not so much for those on the other end of the calls.
Soooo, I finally bit the bullet on Prime Day and got real AirPods. The minute I put them in, I could see and hear that there was no comparison.
WHY ARE THESE SO MUCH BETTER?
— The sound quality is noticeably superior and connectivity is a dream.
— The battery life is great and you can see how much power each pod has.
— The case is the charger and it holds a charge for a very long time after it is unplugged. You can pop the AirPods into it and they recharge without having to be connected to anything.
— You can use Apple's "Find My..." app to locate them if you misplace them. The Find My app locates the case, not the pods, so I now keep the case in my pocket or purse when wearing the pods. That way, when I take them out, I can put them in the case so that when I put the case down, it can be found wherever I've left it.
— You can choose to have Siri announce incoming calls and ask whether or not you want to answer each one. Every time I get a call, I think about how much I love that feature.
— Siri also reads to you the Messages that you get while wearing the pods.
— Using AirPods is generally intuitive, but do read the instructions to know what and how to tap to activate different functions.
One little glitch is that, sometimes when I'm listening to music through the AirPods, I'll say something to my husband and Siri will think I'm talking to her and butt in. It's a little annoying, but anyone who has a device with an "assistant" knows that that is part of the deal.
I got this version because my son has had them since they debuted and loves them. I saw no reason to pay more for features I probably wouldn't use. I love them... and I mean LOVE them.
I cannot say how they work with non-Apple products because I only have Apple.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
As I stated at the beginning of this review, get these. They have been worth every penny.
Don't waste your time and money getting non-Apple pods. I already did that for you.
Coming from somebody who has an iPad and iPhone and an iMac at home having the AirPods and the ability to Switch between them so effortlessly without having to unpair and repair is so nice.
I’ve had a number of Bluetooth headsets over the years from Plantronics to generic to a number of other different companies I don’t even know if I could remember every different manufacture that I’ve had. I always hated that they were bulky they never fit in my ear just right. I just never felt like they were great and it was always complicated they seem to fuss to pair up and especially if they ever unpaired then it was starting all over again. I love that the minute that I got my AirPods I flipped open the case and right away my iPhone registers that they are there and with the top of a Button on my phone and the top of the button on the AirPods in a couple of seconds I am paired up.
I also have a very nice charger that I bought right here on Amazon for about $25 and it will charge my Apple Pencil my AirPods my Apple Watch and my iPhone all at the same time which is amazing and so nice that I can just click my AirPods case on there and they charge up in a very short time.
First off I’m not a sound engineer or an audio file so I can’t say that they have the absolute best sound quality and I’m sure that they don’t I can’t imagine that if you went out and got some of the beads or some other type of wireless headset that fits over your entire ear with a bigger driver in it that of course it’s going to have better sound quality.
But I love that they are tiny small and easy to just throw in the case. The battery life is great if my case is fully charged with the AirPods in and charged I can go to complete times to almost dead with both AirPods being used. If I only use one way talking on the phone I can go even more so in between case charging times is sometimes over a week which is absolutely amazing. The talk time on them is very long as well. I’ve never sat down and figured up exactly whether I get the exact time that Apple says.
I love that the minute that I put them in my ear I get a nice little tone to let me know that they’ve connected if I’m listening to music and I take them out it automatically pauses. I love that it will even pause my music if I get an iMessage and it will read my message it will tell me who it’s from if they’re in my contact list if not it will read me the phone number and then read me the message and then asked me if I would like to respond all without touching my phone.
I love Apple products even if they are a little more expensive in some areas but I love that for instance with the AirPods home they tie Effortlessly Into my phone my Mac and my iPad.
I absolutely hate when I am talking on the phone for more than a couple of minutes to have to hold the phone. Also I run a business and so I have to multitask sometimes someone calls and I need to be able to pick up a remote to navigate to something to check I may need to grab the computer etc. and having the ability to have both hands free to do something like that while still talking and not worrying about the AirPods falling out of my ear is worth more than the money that I paid for them by far and then all the other features that come with it are great.
So in the end I think that they are amazing and I’ve had it again a number of different Bluetooth headsets and they never fit right they fall out of my ear or the ones that took over my ears are always so uncomfortable after a short period of time that I never ended up using them I always ended up using my wired earbuds that come with my iPhone.
I included this picture, which shows the Airpods on the left and the much cheaper knock-off I tried. I thought I'd be okay with the shape of the cheap ones, but as you can see, they are actually much larger than the Airpods, so they were frequently falling out of my ears, especially when I was doing any physical activity.
So, I bit the bullet and shelled out for the OGs. Here's my take:
Pros:
-Integration with other Apple products. I have an iPhone, iPad and Apple watch and these work quite seamlessly unlike any others I've tried. I put "almost" in the title because I'm sure it will be improved on in further versions, I'm just not sure how. Oh, and I've never used "Hey Siri" as much as I do with these. I love being able to adjust the volume (among other commands) hands free. True story: Yesterday I was riding a scooter home from work, and not wanting to remove either hand from the handlebars, I wanted to use Siri to increase the volume. There was enough ambient downtown noise that Siri was having trouble hearing me, so as I was tootling down the busy city street I was saying "Hey Siri" repeatedly at increasing volume, until I was shouting it. Not one of my finer moments...
-The fit (see above)
-Quick charging. I will have something to say about the battery life in Cons, but one saving grace is that they charge remarkably fast. I do a lot of work from my computer (like a lot of others during the time of COVID), so I appreciate being able to get a quick charge on them between meetings.
-Sound quality. I am not an audiophile, so my opinion here is very pedestrian, but they seem to have a good dynamic range. I've been blown away by the bass response coming out of such a small thing.
Cons:
-They still are not very secure in my ears. I suppose that could be more my issue than the Airpods, but I did have to buy an aftermarket accessory kit that included the silicone tips with wings and a silicone lanyard. Sometimes I commute to work on an electric scooter, and if it weren't for those (particularly the lanyard) I would have dropped one of them in the street multiple times. Sometimes I walk over a grate in the street and have a brief moment of fear that one will pop out of my ear and through the grate. With my luck, it isn't so much an issue of "if", but "when". (Side Note: if Apple doesn't sell replacements individually, they should)
-Battery life. I figure I get about 2 hours of active use, which is fine and I think what they advertise. The curious thing is that the two discharge at very different rates. I'm trying to keep track so I can take them into our local Apple store and ask about it, but it is odd, and I have seen other reviews that also noted that issue.
Overall, I give them 2 thumbs up!

I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy
