Star Wars Bundle. Bundle Includes: Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release)

It was time for an upgrade. I found this new Echo Dot to be much better than my older version. The voice recognition is perfect and the sound is awesome. I will buy more later to have them throughout my house.

Whichever device is considered as the "main media stream" is clear as day. However, this Echo Gen 5 as the secondary (out of two Echo Dots (gen's 3 and 5) resulted in choppy playback. When telling Alexa to stop playback on the secondary, the command is ignored entirely, leaving the primary stream in full control of the audio alone. Not real user friendly, especially when audio chop

This is now my third 4th gen Echo Dot. I have another two around my apartment and then also an Echo Fire TV Cube. This new dot was pretty much ok right out of the box, however ran into an issue where for whatever reason the Alexa app wasn’t showing the ultrasound settings of this dot. The ultrasound setting was just gone from the app. It was still there however for my other 4th gen dots. Idk after a firmware update plus then uninstalling the Alexa app and reinstalling it the setting still wasn’t there for the new dot, however then suddenly the next day it was lol Just like poof it showed up! A little weird. I use the ultrasound capabilities of these dots to turn on my smart lights automatically when I walk into a room. Anyhoo, haven’t had any more issues. Yet.

I'm a little late on the boat but I love these things, now I have more on order. Now that see how useful it is. Music, wether, lights, search, calls. That's just the easy stuff.

Recently picked up one of these dots for my aging parents after my dad told me he was worried about my mom not being able to call emergency services if something were to happen to him. Without going into details, it would be much easier for my mom to wake Alexa and ask her to dial '911', than to try and fiddle with the phone. My understanding is this feature is NOT available in all areas and requires certain steps within the app to setup. Keep this in mind.

I also showed them how to use 'lists,' so they don't forget anything while they are out shopping. Mom can set timers for cooking and reminders to take any medications. Dad can use her ability to give the weather forecast to plan any trips or outings.

At my house, we use a number of various generations of dots primarily as an intercom. She comes loaded with helpful features (abilities without skills, such as weather forecast, list, timers, reminders), and you can always browse through her skills for more utilities and smart home integration.

Privacy can be a concern for many. If you can trust the red mute, then you should have no problems. Others may decide to develop practices and disciplines regarding conversations that take place in the presence of a dot. Regardless of your level of alertness. Alexa can be very helpful in many ways.

Oh, and she can fart. :)

I love this thing. The accessibility to music, games, information, clocks, sounds, alarms is amazing. I use this thing daily and have never regretted my purchase even once. My favorite thing to use is sleep sounds which gives you hundreds of choices to pick (my personal favorite is city sounds.) Great purchase! Highly recommend for a gift.

So easy to set up compared to the other brand. Alexa will walk you through it. The app is user friendly. It's made of quality material. I love the black color too. Alexa does everything I need it to do. Makes my home extra smart lol.

Great gift. We now have five. Little by little they’ve become part of our daily life and we don’t even use them to their fullest capability. I laughed when he told me to order another one for a spare. He is sold on their usefulness.

I have purchased several of the larger premium sound devices and am very impressed with them. I wanted to replace a dot with something that has better sound. The deal offered for Black Friday was impossible to resist. I am really impressed with the sound quality from this device. Really pleased I got it.

I didn't want to upgrade to a smart home but this makes it easy to control lights in the house or through the app. anywhere. The announcement system works well and drop in calling feature through the app. to any device in the house. No need to wait for someone to answer a phone.

Bought for my husband who is visually impaired. He is also technology challenged. Wasn’t sure he could do this, but he took to it immediately. He talks to her more than me and I don’t have to look up answers to all his questions anymore. By far the best gift I ever bought him.

The sound quality is amazing! Compare it to any - Sony, Sonos, etc. I’ve had high quality receivers, sub woofers, sound bars, etc for over 50 years! Truly amazing sound quality! In my opinion, best all around choice on the market! Plus, I’m able to play my older Echo in a different room in the house at the same time!

It was very easy to set up and use. The Echo dot speaker is of good quality for its tiny 4 inch around, fits nicely in any decor. Alexa herself is a reliable reminder of your daily tasks and helps keep my day running smoothly. She can be entertaining and a good source of little trivia. I had one set up for my elderly mom at her place, to remind her to take her medicines or to do certain tasks. When she is lonely, she asks Alexa to tell her some history or play music for her. The device gives you a lot of service and entertainment for a nominal price. Highly recommended.

I have multiple devices. Linked so when I play each can play same song simultaneously. One will occasionally stop. Or if you ask Alexa too many questions or commands one or more will stop playing. Pain in the butt. Also shouldn't gave to pay for more than 1 to be operated separately for girls to hear their plsylist andysrlf yo play my playlist in my room.

Also should not have to pay to listen to the playlist I create without having to listen to songs NOT in my playlist. It's changed, Now I ask Alexa to play one of my playlist and it plays crappy @$$ "similar songs" songs not in my playlist. Basically it plays what the hell it wants and almost none of your saved songs. Now I'm constantly ask it to skip. These units aren't cheap and yet we can't play songs solely in our playlists.

Finally got on the trend and got me a echo dot. Works well, I like it. The set was simple. Alexa speaks to you as you set up the prompts. Now I used it everyday.

I’m addicted to buying Alexa’s. I have one in almost every room. This one works great for the basement with the kids. It’s nice and loud and fills the room well. I also like that it has a temperature sensor.

I just love my echo! Works great! I should’ve bought one years ago. I also bought some plug ins for lights, etc. my only issue is that it must be plugged in. There is no charging dock.

WOW - We have never tried any of this type product. This was a First! If you are thinking about it ... DO IT!
Sound Quality is GREAT. Easy to install. Alexa said "Good Morning" to me. I asked her to Play some soft pop music and ...BAM ... there it was. Fantastic MIX!!! This is a 10 +++++

Just added second Echo Dot for stereo sound, and it is amazingly better! Worth doing if you listen to music using this equipment. And no, this does not sound like high dollar set-ups, but--not high dollar, after all. Next on my agenda is subwoofer set-up, and then I'll have a great place-holder until such time as I can replace my dead "good" system. (BTW, I'm listening to orchestral music). Installation fairly straightforward:
For stereo sound and improved music playback in the left and right channels, pair two supported Echo devices.
Open the Alexa app .
Select Devices .
Select plus .
Select Combine Speakers.
Select Stereo Pair / subwoofer, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

I really like that these are component devices that I can buy and install one at a time as my budget permits, and the sound improves with each addition.

Have purchased other Alexa products. Haven't had any problems with my other items but this one I have had a few issues that can be annoying but nothing major to make me send it back.

I was so sad to find out my tall, cylinder original Echo died and I traded it in. I’m lucky she decided to do it for Black Friday. This Dot is such an upgrade from the previous ones. The sound is fantastic and easy to install.

The ONLY thing I didn’t like is the adapter cord is white and it doesn’t matter what color you purchase. I switch my cord out with another Dot so it would be black. I’m a little OCD when it comes to small details.

I'm a 72 yr old grandmother. I'm not especially tech smart , but this little fella was SO easy to set up even I could do it. I love that it will read to me from my kindle books ! Something I wasn't expecting. I hesitated to buy one in the past because I thought it would be to complicated for me. It's NOT ! And at this price, I just ordered another one for the bedroom. Love it !

I love my Alexa device and I set alarms, set reminders, do shopping list, and play music, and also I have set with my fired TV and works perfectly. Also it very helpful for me through the day. And also I can call home and use it as home phone :)

This will be my third and final Alexa. My current one suddenly lost the ability to speak and wants me to look at a text. NO! I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. And there's no help line to call. So hopefully this one lasts because I will either find something else or simply live without it.

The regular retail price on the Dot is beyond crazy but is a decent buy during sales, when it is often more than half off. I dont see much difference between this and the previous generation (I have two of those). Supposed to have better sound but I dont hear it. Perfect if you just need voice control or assistance. I would recommend the more expensive version with clock/temp display, which makes it more functional all the time. The only reason I bought this base version is to use with the Star Wars stormtrooper stand.

I wasn't sure what the hype was all about.. Easy breezy idiot proof set up. Simply download Alexa app, plug in your "dot" and it just guides you through.Took me like 30 seconds. Only issue I had was to link it with sirius XM but that is because of Sirius XM app (saw others struggle with it). Sound system is soooo crisp, that it surpasses my more expensive Bose stereo that I paid $$$ years ago for. Can't believe such a small gadget can have that much surround sound feel.. It's like I installed a built in sound system. Small, inconspicuous, fits in the palm of your hand that it does't take any space.; like a small mug.
Now that I saw what this little gadget can do I want to get everything Alexa compatible..
After I bought it, price went down on "deals" so I bought more for gifts and more for me.. I use it mostly to play music, haven't tried to link it to my honeywell Alexa compatible thermostat just because, like Serius XM 's app, honeywell's wifi control is not easy to set up and, from what I read, not so reliable either, so I figured I keep using it as manual and not try to get too fancy. But Echo dot is awesome!

Over the years they have improved the pick up of these Elexa's the second or third year were horriable..i use to turn on smart switches (25)

I love mine so I bought this for my hubby to use in the garage. He builds transmissions and so many times his hands are greasy and dirty. This is very handy for him to keep a constant list of parts he needs to order without having to stop and wipe his hands off to write something down. I use mine in the house constantly for reminders and to keep a shopping list. This is a huge help to anyone who multi tasks and needs to remind themselves of important meetings, appointments etc. I just have Alexa remind me of thins while I'm having my morning coffee. She is truly a great help!

I once thought I did not need this. Boy was I wrong. She does my grocery list. Tell me how long it will take me to get from one destination to another. I also got smart plugs so she turns things off and on. I have more to explore about my dot.

This sounds so much better than my older model - the original puck shaped Echo Dot. Love the new design & am enjoying this in my bathroom - great for those long bath tub soaks = ahhhhhhhhhh RELAXING!

I don't know how I lived without this. Compatible with so much of our home. I'm still learning about all the things it can do and am impressed with its capabilities. definitely makes life easier.

I have a Echo 3 and a dot, which was traded in for this Echo 5. There is a subtantial bass/music difference between Echo 3 and Echo 5, and I ended up placing Echo 5 in the larger room for my personal sound preference. It works great and you can tap it on its top to stop notifications. The voice recognition also seems to be better than Echo 3 and I don't have to repeat myself as much.

I have the old dot in my bedroom and it doesn't work well anymore. she doesn't follow commands that I wish she would. I'll ask her to play a certain song and she just won't. However, this new generation I got for my kitchen is nice. She talks too much though. I'll ask her to set a timer (which she will) and then she'll ask if I want to know what the weather is. Like babe, I did not ask for all that. I hope she stays good though in another year unlike the bedroom one.

Produces great quality sound, the music quality on these is excellent. I will recommend. I have 5 of these so far and I wish I could play music on all at once. I also realized that when I play on 2-3 at a time the music keeps cutting on and off and sometimes won’t play. I love them still though

Finally decided to upgrade my original Alexa to this one and big difference!! The sound quality for voice and music is on a different level than the original. The mic picks up much better, less repeating same commands. I like the sphere vs the old style puck.. One day, id like to get one of the better audio models, but im happy enough with this for now!

I ended up buying 2 echo dots when they were on sale (50% off). So far they've been useful and are worth the price. I also bought some smart plugs and thats helpful when it comes to turning things on/off.

I haven't had any issues with it regarding connectivity. Alexa wakes quickly and works well, the system is optimized well.

Very good for creating reminders and alarms, the speaker quality is also good in my opinion. It has a bunch of options and things you can set for it to do, very customizable.

Overall, it is worth it's price and honestly not expensive by any means, just wait for one of the holidays and buy it 1/2 off.

Alexa dot is AWESOME!!! I don't have to go back into my phone for answers or correct spelling. Volume is not too loud, can heard across the room just fine. Takes up a very small space. AND it was on sale!!!

Loved the fact that I could set it up prior to receiving it. Probably took less than a minute to finish set up when it arrived. So much easier to use than the Google one I have. Also has more options for customization and routines. For the icing on the cake I got the storm trooper holder which lights up and looks amazing when Alexa is functioning. I am totally in love with both!!

We have stayed in air bnbs with Alexa. I didn't realize how nice having one would be. Ask her anything. She can play music, tell you the time, dim the lights ( with the right bulbs) , and set alarms . Definitely not going to give up my alexa . She has us spoiled.

Having used Google Home and Minis for the past 8 years, we had grown tired of repeating ourselves when trying to control lights, cameras, or routines. Quite often you'd ask and nothing would happen. So we switched.
Set up was easy, actually done before it arrived. Our Wyze bulbs connected without issue. Alexa replies with a simple "OK" and does that is asked the first time. Lights are controlled immediately, answeres such as weather are as well. We have now moved over completely. We downsized the amount of units we use, to just 3 from 4 and it seems to work just as well if not better. Sound is better as well. Overall we're very happy with switching.

So I’ve owned echo since a their first release. I love how it connects to my ring and TVs and smart bulbs. It’s so easy to use. I tried apple HomePods and I just can’t get jiggly with it. I know it’s supposed to be more secure but the ease of use is just non existent. Not to mention constantly disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. Grant it echos disconnect every now and then but since I’ve ordered these newer ones. No issues.

23/11/02: Had previously purchased one and it acted like a small nightmare, which I immediately returned without reviewing. Some setup items and things in-app have changed that made everything so much easier. Even exhausted at the end of a very long day yesterday, I was able to setup three of them with zero hiccups except for misunderstandings about name and location. Cleared those up quickly and each one has performed perfectly so far. Fingers are crossed and if something changes I will update my review.

Alexa is constantly being updated and I love the new developments. The few "not so good developements"
disappear quickly.
I whispered one morning, "Alexa what the temperture?" and she whispered back it back to me.
I learn so much so easily.

I have an old Echo and added a dot and 4 pops to cover the rooms in my house. I live with my disabled mother and sister who need to be able to call me for help. This was the best voice activated "intercom" type system that I could figure out. But there are some annoying issues with the app.

1. DND. I should be able to determine which parts of the Alexa interactions I can silence during the night. I want alarms, timers and announcements to freely interrupt me but not notifications. With DND announcements do not play. So I can't use DND but I get woken up by stupid notification chimes.

2. The newest app update removed the "listen" from the bottom of the menu. Now I have to tap around more to play things.

3. The app does not show my audible collections or allow any kind of searching ... I have to scroll and scroll and scroll.

4. Alexa quite often does not play the selection I tell it to when I speak the commands. I don't know why it can't find what I'm telling it. When I look at the history it has exactly what what I spoke, but plays the wrong thing. (mostly selections in my Audible Acct).

5. The app is super slow and sluggish to load. No matter how many times I re-install. (Android)

6. I have one network on 2 SSIDs because I'm using an extender in my office and wanted to separate my devices. Even tho it's the same network (IPs are served from the main router) the Echo devices will not work together -- so the device in my office has a weak connection since I have to use the main house SSID. This is just dumb.

Love the speaker bluetooth!

ISO buying an expensive link - now you can use this one for your bluetooth speaker system.
Use this echo as brigde for my Onyx 7 live - now can play everywhere with that combo

I know have one of these in about every room in the house kind of feel like George Jetson now using them with spark plugs and using them to play music all around love it

I purchased the Echo Dot Gen 5 on sale, and use one in each room for house-wide music. The sound is deeper than my previous Echos, and will be great for streaming Christmas music during the season.
And it has a built-in Eero extender, providing strong signal in every room.

Recently upgraded our older generation Echo dot with this and it’s a night and day difference in sound quality. Glad we took advantage of the prime sales and we couldn’t be anymore happier. Now we have surround sound through our kitchen and living room area since we have the ability to play our audio to “everywhere” which the sound goes to all our Alexa devices.

I have an echo in every room. In the house. They help by playing music to turning lights on and off, locking doors and more. I have even given some to family to drop in and chat both audio and video. Everyone really needs the help.

This little speaker is mighty, perfect for my needs I use it as a computer speaker since I don't need anything louder that this. Having Alexa at my finger tips is always helpful when I am browsing or working.

Just put 3 of these in a 3 level home along with all the various other bulbs and devices. They are insanely easy to set up and they find new devices very well.

I have two main issues with them:

Even though they are on separate floors sometimes the wrong one will respond even though I'm standing in the same room with one. For example, I'm in the family room and ask it something and I can hear the one in the basement respond. Or I am standing in the family room next to a new smart light bulb and ask Alexa to find the new device, the one in the family will respond and speak but the bulb will get "connected" to the echo in the basement. All three of them have been given different "Names"... Alexa, Ziggy, and whatever I named the one on the second floor. Interestingly the one on the second floor never seems to get confused and respond when it shouldn't, the issue seems confined to the family room and basement devices. Internet says to turn down the volume on the one that shouldn't respond. So I did that, to almost 0% but it doesn't' seem to matter. Internet says to turn off communications on the one that shouldn't answer, did that and it still responds. Internet says move them further apart or don't put them in rooms "on top" of each other. Will try that.

Second issue are the constant notifications and various noises. I just figured out how to turn them off within the Alexa app on the phone and there were an incredible number of separate notifications to turn off.

I have an odd shaped living room and none of the speakers I’ve tried before sounded good in that room. I listen to mostly classical, instrumental, and live recordings (occasionally 70 and 80s folk and rock music). The speakers I’ve tried before (including some costing $2000 per set) always sounded unbalanced or boomy in this room (I’m older and don’t like the overemphasis on poor quality bass in a lot of speakers). I set up two of these for stereo and they sound great. I am thinking about getting the echo subwoofer but so far I’m very happy with the sound of these. At $22 each on sale this was a great deal.

It’s great, but, like others, sometimes I have to bellow at it several times. No other noise competing. Today, it was stuck for no reason with the blue light first just solid on, then swirling and unresponsive till I unplugged it and that seemed to fix it. I ask it to play music for 3 hours (keeping an elderly dog company), come home after 2 hours hours and no music. Other times, all is fine. Not my only device so I suspect this one has a glitch. Overall, I love the Echo devices! Just have occasional glitches with this one which is why only 4 stars.

I got this on Prime Day on sale and I have to say the sound is wonderful. It's the time of year when I play Christmas music all the time and I wanted it for our bedroom, especially to play instrumental themes before bed.

I am still having the same complaint with this as I do about our Echo Show 5. Sometimes you have to BELLOW at the damn thing to get it to pay attention to you. Last night I gave it a nightly routine command, "Reading Time," which times 15 minutes for us to read, and instead it wanted to read a book to us. The 1st and 2nd generation Dots were a lot more sound sensitive. I never had either of them constantly comment, "I didn't understand, can you say that again." For God's sake, make the voice recognition more sensitive again. Even a bird chirping outside will interfere with the new Echo devices understanding you. It also responds to my husband's voice better than it does to mine. Are the new Echo units now gender-biased????

I live the sound from this little device. All I have to do is say Alexa.....then my request. It will do audio books, music, my alarms etc. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

We bought the original Echo tower 8 years ago. It still works but not as good as when it was new so we decided to try the new dot. It has worked seamlessly since we plugged it in. I thought I might have trouble since I already had the app from the original echo, but I was wrong. It hooked up super fast and we love it. Great look too and it being on sale for around 20.00, you can’t not get one for that. Highly recommend, would be nice if the version with the clock wasnt twice as high, but it’s free to ask Alexa what time it is 😊

This was a great purchase. We are using this to extend our network out to our animal barn as our remote camera there kept having issues with keeping on the network. This Alexa extends the network once you authorize it, so now our camera stays on the network with no issues because the Alexa has better connectivity. It was cheaper and handier than getting a regular network extender, which is pretty amazing considering how much more it can do.
Anyway.....great value.

I've been using the Echo Dot (5th Gen) for a few months now, and I've been really impressed with it. It's a small, unassuming device, but it's packed with features. AND A WAY BETTER MIC then gen 4

One of the things I love most about the Echo Dot is how versatile it is. I use it for everything from playing music to controlling my smart home to setting alarms. It's also great for answering my questions and providing me with information.

The Echo Dot's sound quality is also surprisingly good. It's not going to replace a high-end speaker system, but it's definitely good enough for everyday listening. I especially like using it to play music in the kitchen or bedroom. and I can not stress how convenient is to not have to raise my voice even when the speaker is playing music, I did have to raise my voice on earlier models

Overall, I'm really happy with the Echo Dot (5th Gen). It's a great value for the price, and it's made my life a lot easier.

I had Alexa’s in the past, loved them. Wanted another one solely for the fact of getting one of those smart plug-ins so I could tell it to turn off my lights when I’m in bed. She does her job, music sounds good, cannot complain

I like the new dot except it is sensative go to move it while listening to music and it stops, my old one never did that.

I was told I would get a $15 credit by the tech when I bought this one, as my old echo dot was not working. Have not seen that credit yet?

Bought this for my grandmother who always struggled with making phone calls through her cellphone. It’s good for elderly people who don’t know how to call people, with this she can easily ask Alexa to call for her. The only small con I can say is my grandmother has a strong Spanish accent, so at times Alexa won’t understand her correctly.

I got this puck because I wanted a little better sound for music than the original and Im not disappointed! Since I already had 2 in the house, I just plugged it it and it did all the rest of the set up.

I love having my home set up so that I can turn on and off lights, set up a morning routine with an alarm and music, and connect to my TV with ease. I have three Dots - one in the bathroom for shower karaoke, one in the kitchen for help with recipes, and one in the bedroom for my morning alarm. I highly recommend these convenient little devices. Just remember to say thank you when they do what you want so they'll remember that after the AI robot/human war.

I love it. It’s my first Alexa, I use it often for music while I clean in the kitchen. It doesn’t get as loud as a speaker would. It will also play local live news. Along with whatever from your phone. It was a super easy set up. Thinking about getting another one.

I've been using a 2nd gen Echo Dot for the past few years now and I finally got around to upgrading to the 5th gen and let me say it is honestly such a game changer. The voice recognition in my opinion is way better than the previous iterations. No more do I need to shout at the top of my lungs with proper enunciation!

Moreover, the sound quality also feels a lot better and immersive. I don't normally use my echo dot to play music but nowadays I find myself gravitating using my echo dot because the sound quality is honestly on par with my bluetooth speakers.

Overall, if you're using an older echo dot I highly recommend upgrading to this version because it is waayyyy better than the older models.

This can be a little frustrating to set up, but once I did I love it. I use it mostly to play music at work or doing work around the house. I connected it to my Apple Music and it’s really nice being able to play a playlist without my phone having to be connected to speaker through Bluetooth.

My Dot Gen 3 has an auxiliary out, which can be connected to a better sound system. The main reason I purchased was that it has a microphone cancelling button and temperature sensors. When I ask "Alexa, what's the temperature inside", the response if off a couple degrees. Others have said it may take 24-48 hrs to calibrate itself. If it doesn't, I may be returning it. Also, as others have stated, the only power adapter it comes with is all white. Unless you ordered the white product, it just looks wrong. Fortunately my black adapter from my Dot Gen 3 works with it fine (same power rating and connector.)

We just moved into a larger home and wanted to get another Alexa to have music on a different floor. We chose the eco dot since it was affordable and small.
We are really happy with it! Our 4 year old twins tell it orders all day and love to request music. It's very receptive and clear. The music sounds great and you can easily request it to adjust volume. You can also adjust volume on the actual device. I do like that you can lock it/push to not have it receive commands.

I have had a echo dot 3rd gen for a long time. We have it in the bedroom and use it to turn lights and things things off or on, set reminders, as an alarm, or to play sleep noises. We have a Fire TV box that we use to get Alexa to do things sometimes, but mostly use Alexa on our phones during the day.

Alexa on the Fire TV box is not as robust as the Eco 3rd gen dot in many ways. And since it is in the living room near the entertainment center she doesn't always hear, or hear well. It is a great fire device though.

We decided we would try and Echo in the kitchen, and they were giving the gen 5 away on Prime day so I ordered one, and wish I had ordered at least two more. The gen 5 is superior to the gen 3 in so many ways. It is much faster, and hears very well. It also has a built in temp sensor so you can get the temp of the room, which is nice. It also sounds much better than the gen 3. We will likely get a couple of more and link them so we can play music in different parts of the house. Over all the gen 5 just seems to be easier quicker and more pleasant to use. We change the name on the Fire box and use the dot for most things now.
